Counsel and support the family in coping with the death of a child.
Objectives
- Gain insight into the needs of families who have lost an infant.
- Explain why donating to a milk bank is an appropriate suggestion to make to a bereaved nursing mother.
- Distinguish between the “right” and the “wrong” words to say to a bereaved family.
- Appreciate how grief and loss of an infant can differ from culture to culture.
