In this unit, you’ll find yourself reflecting on the true meaning of professional conduct and self-improvement. You’ll need to ask yourself:
- Why is it important for me to comply with legal and ethical mandates?
- How do I comply with legal/ethical mandates within the IBCLC’s role at the individual, agency/state and national/international level.
- How do I go about reading and using existing research in clinical practice?
- What is the meaning of leadership and professional development, and what steps do I need to take in order to achieve that leadership and development?
