Certified Clinical Lactationist™ Exam Attempt 2

This is your second of three possible exam attempts.

This exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Upon successful completion of this exam, and all other requirements, you will be a Certified Clinical Lactationist™.

You will have exactly 1 hour to complete the exam and you must score at least 75% (37 correct out of 50 questions) to pass the exam. Incomplete questions will be counted as incorrect. All work on the exam must be solely the work of the test-taker without the aid of other people, books, notes, the Internet, or other resources. The contents of the exam may not be shared or copied. Please note, no two copies of the exam will be exactly the same.

Upon completion of the exam, you will receive feedback on your total score and your performance by discipline but individual exam questions and responses will not be provided. If you fail the exam, we will not provide any information regarding which questions were missed or their correct answers. These limitations are in place to protect the integrity of the exam.

Getting Started

After reading these instructions, click the “Start” button at the bottom of this page. Clicking the “Start” button will start the exam and the exam clock. Each question has several answer options preceded by a bubble. Click in the bubble to select your answer. If you make a mistake, simply choose another bubble. You may change your answer at any time prior to scoring the test by clicking a different answer.

Navigating Questions

• To move to the next question, click the “Next Question” button after selecting your answer. You may also move to the previous question by clicking the “Previous Question” button.
• To return to a specific question, use the drop-down box located below each question. Select the question number and the test will automatically take you back to that number. You may want to use this feature if you have difficulty with a question and want to skip it and return to it later. Be sure to make a hand-written note of the question number so you can easily find it again.
• To review all of your answers from the beginning, select Question #1. If you want to change an answer, simply change it. If you navigate back to a question before you have completed the entire test, make a note of the last question you answered so you can quickly return to the place where you left off.

Time Management

This exam is timed and you have 1 hour to complete it. A timer, showing the amount of time you have left to complete the exam, is located in the upper-right portion of the page. You cannot stop the timer or pause the exam so do not begin until you can devote the full hour to the exam. If you do not complete the exam within the allotted time, unanswered questions will be counted as wrong.

Scoring the Exam

You must complete the entire exam before scoring it, including going back and answering any questions you skipped. If you score the exam with unanswered questions, they will be counted as wrong. When you are finished with all of the questions, click the “Finish” button.  If you passed, and you have met all of your other requirements, your certificate will be activated. We will also mail you a CCL™ lapel pin within 45 days of earning your certification.

If you fail the exam, don’t give up! You may retake the exam one more time. A link to purchase the next exam attempt will be included in your exam results as well as an email you will receive later.  If you fail the exam all three times you take it, you will no longer be eligible for the CCL™ certification.
